We have always had a good time going to the ballpark here in town. Included in the "Jounior Slugger" Kid's Pack this season were select opertunites to run the basses after games. This was after the last game of the season. It was the 3rd or 4th time he has run the basses. The first time I had to run with him, the second time Jeff ran with him. The previous times he has run them by himself.
Oh, how fast he is going up. It is bitter sweet for me. Excited that he is doing things by himself and sad that he is not my baby any more.

Making connections
So Will has voted in his 3rd November election. I talked to
him Monday night and said that we were going to go vote in the morning. Then
this morning we watched 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' on PBS, which was about voting.
When we were done filling out the ballot and put it in the box, he stopped me
to ask when we could count them. He was disappointed when I told him that
someone else was going to do it. I had never talked to him about counting but
Daniel did. He is such a smart boy to be making that connection, on his own. Is
this normal for his age? I don't know.

Swimming Fun
Will has been in the pool only about 3 times this summer. Before last weekend he was not all to fire thrilled about the water. We went to the Loken's for the 4th of July party and he liked watching they guys play water volleyball. So he finally wanted to go in. He loved it.
We went to the pool for a while yesterday. I randomly asked if he wanted to jump in off the side and he did and liked it. So we jumped for a while.

Practice
I have decided what kind of cake to make for Will’s birthday. I knew that I would need to practice in order to make it look the way I wanted it to. So I made a practice cake over the weekend. I have learned from it and have some ideas of how to make Will’s. I’m not going to give a spoiler of what I am doing. You will have to wait till Halloween.

Cool things
I dropped off Will at Grandmas. I usually wait a couple of minutes so that Will does not get too upset as I leave. We are having a little separation anxiety or some of the teething, I don't want anyone but Mommy stage right now. Grandma and Will were playing on the floor with a activity cube thing that has shaped & colored buttons to push, a cylinder to roll, and a dial to turn (like an old rotary phone). Grandma was showing Will how to push the button with his finger instead of hitting it. He decided that he was not strong enough so he grabbed Grandma's finger and used that to push the button. Grandma and I were, 'Did we see what we thought we saw?' It is great to see how he is developing, learning and problem solving. We are just starting to have fun just putting things in and out of containers.

"Dancing in the rain"
Well kind of, it's dancing - Will style. It's been hot here. I mean 103-105 hot. So with Tropical Depression #5 in Louisiana pushing moisture our way and the afternoon heat we got a thunder storm. It rained hard and was blowing all directions. Will loves the water so we took him out side to see and feel the rain. He loved it, as you can see.
I crawled up here all by my self!!

Nap time
… or lack there of
Nap schedule from Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Nurse, read books, sing, put in crib (typical routine) = FAIL
Hold, rock, sing, tabs, pacifier to chew on, put in crib = FAIL
Hold, rock, sing, Tylenol, pacifier to chew on, put in crib = FAIL
Give up after 2+ hours
Sometime he would go to sleep after this but that was because he was totally exhausted from crying.

Mini Vacation - Trip to the coast
We decided to take a weekend to celebrate our 10th anniversary and go to Galveston. We had a great time. Will got to have a few firsts this weekend: long car trip (~4 hours), first night in a hotel/condo, playing on the beach and ‘swimming’ in the Gulf of Mexico.
I will have video later. I wanted to post pictures, as requested.

Discovering the beach
I like this beach / water combo, off I go!

I like the shorter coffee table.

Juneteenth 2010
Round Rock held their 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration. We went to listen to a couple of bands. Will took a little bit of time to warm up to the soundings, but when he did, he enjoyed himself.
